MRS. IDA THIES BORNHOLDT 1867-1932

Mrs. Henry Thies Bornholdt, wife of the late Henry Bornholdt, passed away at her home Tuesday morning, December 1 after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Bornholdt was born at LeClaire, Iowa, March 26, 1867, and came to Avoca when ten years old. In 1888, she was married to Henry Bornholdt, whom she survived three years. The were the parent of four children: Mrs. Della Melssen of Coalmont, Colorado; Elmer Bornholdt of Avoca; Walter Bornholdt of Sioux city; and Mrs. Ina Vierhus of Avoca a;; who were present at the last services. In addition to these there are four grandsons who will miss that dearest pal, grandmother.

At the time of Mr. Bornholdt’s death they were building a beautiful modern home, which Mrs. Bornholdt was spared to occupy less than three years. She was a lady who had many friends and we join them in proffering sympathy to the bereaved family.
