FERDINAND PRIESTER

Word was received in Avoca last night that Ferd Priester has passed away at his home in Davenport, Iowa, earlier in the evening.

Ferd Priester was born and raised on the Preister farm northeast of Avoca. After leaving the farm he came to Avoca and engaged in the drug business, the firm name being Priester & Soll. Later they sold the drug business to O. A. Grulke about 18 years ago.

He was married to Miss Emma Soll. After leaving Avoca, Mr. and Mrs. Priester lived in Walnut where Mr. Priester was engaged in the banking business until ill health compelled him to give up active business. About two years ago they removed to Davenport. For the past several years Mr. Priester has been a sufferer from rheumatism and other complications. Everything possible was done to relieve him of his pain and suffering but he gradually failed until death came as a relief.

Henry Priester, a brother, and Ernest Soll of Walnut, will leave this evening for Davenport to attend the funeral.
