Mrs. Harry Wiese Rites Here Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry (Lena Sophia Gustafsen)Wiese, 70, were held from the Berthusen Funeral Home in Avoca today (Thursday) with the Rev Charles Fausnacht officiating. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Wiese died suddenly Monday, February 18, on the way home from a trip to Harlan and Avoca.
She was born on April 4, 1892, at Marne, a daughter of Carl and Maren Andersen Gustafsen. She moved with her family to the Avoca community when she as 12 years old and has lived here since that time.

She was married to Harry Wiese on January 25, 1921, at Atlantic. Mrs. Wise is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Duane McKinny of Long View, Washington, Mrs. Dale Sievers of Avoca, and Mrs George Bledsoe of Council Bluffs; eight brothers and sisters, Chris Gustafsen of Avoca, Fred Gustafsen of Santa Monica, CA, Carl Gustafsen of Council Bluffs, Mrs. George Sarvis of Avoca, Mrs. Christine Christensen of Atlantic, Mrs. Sarah Jacobsen of Nebraska City, NE, Mrs. Lillie Burgin of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Elva Peters of Avoca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dan, and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Nelsen and Mrs. Detlef Sorensen.
Mrs. Weise was a member of the Congregational church in Avoca and also was an active member of the Avoca chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

THURSDAY SERVICES FOR AVOCA WOMAN
Avoca---Services for Mrs. Lena Sophia Weise, 70, will be held 2 pm. Thursday at the Berthusen Funeral Home. She died Monday.
The Rev Charles Eausnacht will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Harry’ three daughters, Mrs. L. D. McKinny of Longview, Washington; Mrs. Dale Sievers of Avoca, and Mrs. George Bledsoe of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Chris Gustafsen of Avoca; Fred Gustafsen of Santa Monica, California, and Carl Gustafsen of Council Bluffs; five sisters, Mrs. Ann Sarvis of Avoca, Mrs. Chris Christensen of Atlantic, Mrs. Ernest Jacobsen of Nebraska City, NE, and Mrs. Harry Burgin of Council Bluffs.
