Jim Sondag, 43, of Glenwood, Iowa, former resident of Council Bluffs, passed away October 9, 2008.

Jim was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a 1983 graduate of St. Alberts High School and attended IWCC for 1 year. He worked as a Hydro Technician for U.S. Geological Survey and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Matthew Sondag; father-in-law, Gerald Adams; maternal grandfather, Martin Gates; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Eileen Sondag.

Jim is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cheryl Sondag of Glenwood; children, Amber Williams and husband Alex of Sioux City, Iowa, Cortney Sondag of Ames, Iowa, Brittany Sondag, Taylor Sondag, Dylan Sondag all of Glenwood; mother, Diane Sondag of Council Bluffs; sisters, Debbie Nichols and husband Walt of Council Bluffs, Shelley Fischer and husband Greg of Omaha, Neb.; brother, Joe Sondag of Council Bluffs; mother-in-law, Maryann Adams of Glenwood; grandmother, Marie Gates of Council Bluffs; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.

Wake service will be Sunday, October 12, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Monahan officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
