Jack F. Smith, age 74, died October 8, 2008, at Risen Son Christian Village.

Jack was born on August 27, 1934, in Glenwood to Charles and Eva (Brown) Smith. Jack graduated with the Abraham Lincoln High School Class of 1954. Jack Served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He married Clella "Kelly" Turnquist on March 24, 1962. Jack was a machine operator and retired from Paxton and Verling Steel in 1996, after 42 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting and especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Waters, Ida Willis and Dorothy Wennihan.

Jack is survived by his wife Kelly; son, Neil Smith and his wife Bobbie; daughter, Sheila Weihs and her husband Barry; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Weihs, Chelsea Weihs, Austin Smith, Mickey Smith, Mason Smith and Angela Simmons; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family is Sunday 4:00-6:00 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Graveside Service Monday 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs. Family and Friends meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Bethany Presbyterian Church.
