In Memory: Donald A. Goos
Donald A. Goos, 96, of Treynor died June 6 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1906, in Silver City to Amiel and Mary D. (Bruning) Goos. He moved to Treynor in 1993. He was a 1922 graduate of Silver City High School. He was a farmer in the Silver City area, retiring in 1975. He was a 50-year shipper to Omaha StockYards. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola and a charter member of Mills County Farm Bureau. He was a former board member of Silver City Bank and a former member of Farm Service Board. He served on Excelsior School board of rural Silver City.
Mr. Goos and his wife, Jean (Burgoin), were married June 3, 1944.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Carol Forristall and husband, Greg, of Macedonia and Margaret Hein and husband, Dennis, of Omaha; one son, Lynn, and wife, Janet, of Silver City; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held Saturday at Cutler Chapel. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 P.M. at St. john Lutheran Church in Mineola with the Rev. Stephanie Sanborn officiating. Burial was in Silver City Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola.
