In Memory: Marvin L. Hough

The funeral for Marvin L. “Red” Hough, 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, was held Saturday morning at Cutler Chapel with the Rev. Donald Bates of Lighthouse Temple-Church of the Open Bible officiating.

Mr. Hough died May 14 at his son’s home in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was born December 28, 1918, in Hazel Dell Township to Roy and Cora (Hutchinson) Hough. He previously lived in Council Bluffs, moving to Kansas City in 1997. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Aleutian Islands. He was a welder for Fruehauf Trailers, retiring in 1981 after 33 ½ years of service.

Mr. Hough was preceded in death by his wife, Della E. (Raymer), on August 24, 1988. They were married January 23, 1945.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Beth Vasser and husband Warren, of Omaha and Patricia K. Smith and husband, Daniel, of Council Bluffs; three sons, Stephen and Gary and wife, Willie, both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Randall and wife, Twila, of Underwood; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial was in Hazel Dell Cemetery.

Memorial may be offered to the American Lung Association.
