In Memory: Roy E. Brockman

Roy E. Brockman, 92, of Carson died May 15 at Oakland Manor Care Center in Oakland.

He was a lifelong resident of the Carson area. He graduated from Pleasant Valley Country School. He was a quartermaster in the U.S. Army and equipment operator during World War II in the battles of Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and EAME Ribbon in 1943.

After serving with the Army, he began a life long career as a truck driver, working for Clausen Brothers Trucking at Treynor.

He later owned Brockman Brothers COOP Service Station and Trucking in Carson with his brothers Walt and George Brockman. He retired in 1975.

He was a member of Treynor Zion Congregation church, Carson American Legion and Council Bluffs VFW.

Survivors include one brother, Walter Brockman, and wife, Beulah, of Carson.

Visitation with the family was held Friday evening at hertz Funeral Home in Carson. The funeral was held Saturday morning at the funeral home. Burial was in Carson Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Carson American legion Post No. 556.
