Eleanor J. "Ellie" Boyer, age 80, of Council Bluffs, passed away at her home on October 3, 2008.

Ellie was born September 14, 1928, in Creston, Iowa to John and Lela (Hickcox) Oliphant. She graduated from high school and attended college. Ellie worked as a waitress for Club 64 for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcella Karr; granddaughter, Becky Boyer; and brother, Wayne Oliphant.

Ellie is survived by husband of 32 years, Loran Boyer Jr.; daughter, Diana Poulson; step-daughter, Joetta Stupfell and husband Bill all of Council Bluffs; step-son, Mark Boyer and wife Kris of Sefner, Fla.; grandchildren, Anna Robey, Matthew Poulson, Perry Stupfell, Ellen Anderson, Stephanie Wolfe, Joshua Boyer, Heidi Boyer, Bill Boyer, Beth Morales; and great grandchildren; brothers, Billy Oliphant of Wooster, Ohio, Robert Oliphant of Clear Lake, Iowa, Everett Oliphant of Dixon, Ky., John Oliphant Jr., of Santa Cruz, Calif., Paul Oliphant of Lenox, Iowa, Dale Oliphant of Pacific Junction, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Reverend Alan Mallory, Pastor Harvest Community Church, officiant. Interment Glenwood Cemetery, with luncheon to follow at Methodist Hall in Pacific Junction. Family suggest memorials to Becky Boyer memorial at Underwood Schools, and Southwest Iowa Hospice.
