Lupe Theresa (Limon) Atilano, age 84, of Council Bluffs, passed away on October 1, 2008, after a long illness.

Lupe was born in St. Paul, Minn., on October 27, 1923. She lived there until she met Serafin (Seth) Atilano, who was stationed at Fort Snelling, Minn. They married in 1944 and moved to Iowa. Lupe was a homemaker until her children were grown and then worked as a salesclerk for JC Penney for 15 years. She was a member of Mary Immaculate Traditional Catholic Church, in Omaha, Neb.

Lupe was preceded in death by her husband, Serafin (Seth) Atilano; and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, John, of Rock Island, Ill., Therese (Teri) Farris and son-in-law Raymond, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary (Maria), of Council Bluffs, Thomas and daughter-in-law Mary, of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers.

Rosary Recitation, Sunday, 4 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, Monday, 10 a.m., at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 7745 Military Ave., Omaha, NE. Private family interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice with Heart, 300 West Broadway, Suite 114, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503.
