Ellen R. Boggs

Ellen Rosella Boggs, 94, of Council Bluffs died Jan. 21 at Indian Hills Nursing Home.

She was born May 14, 1908, to Grant Payette and Emma Holmes Boggs. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1921. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School. She was a school cook for Council Bluffs Schools, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Eastern Star No. 25, High Priestess White Shrine and Social Order of Beauceant.

Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Sr., on Dec. 5, 1995. They were married 67 years. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glennys, great-grandson Jordan Harrison, and parents.

Survivors include one son, Harold E. Jr., and wife, Virginia, of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Daisy Blood of Idaho and Sonora Gleason of Washington; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Prescott of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. John's Lutheran Church and American Heart Association.
