Warren E. Ruesch

CHARLES CITY - The funeral for Warren Ernest Ruesch, 81, of Council Bluffs will be today at 2 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 705 3rd Ave., in Charles City.

Mr. Ruesch died Jan. 19 at Risen Son Christian Village.

He was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Medford, Wis., to Gena (Johnson) and Ernest Ruesch. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the European Theatre. He was a former member of the American Legion Post No. 164 in Charles City.

Mr. Ruesch and his wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Erickson), were married Sept. 5, 1948.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Jack and wife, Gloria, of Council Bluffs and James and wife, Alisa, of Baltimore; one brother, Lloyd, and wife, Mae, of Grants Pass, Ore.; two sisters, Frances Merwin of Abbotsford, Wis., and Marian Merwin of West Bend, Wis.; grandsons, Eric Ruesch and Jakob Ruesch.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Fullerton Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to The Messiah Lutheran Church.
