In Memory: Dorothy Gravert

Funeral for Dorothy E. (Shoemaker) Gravert, 74, of Council Bluffs was held Monday at 3 P.M. at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ruhnle officiating.

She died January 19 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Born in Council Bluffs, she graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. A homemaker, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Honey Creek and of the Friendship Club in Minden. She was a resident of Beebeetown for 40 years before later moving to Minden and then Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Gravert was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, on October 6, 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Lois Cihacek of Council Bluffs, Sandi Leaders and husband, Harley, of Minden, and Ellen Schmidt and husband, Fred, of Crescent; three sons, Bob of Mansfield, Texas, Gary and wife, Kathy, of Venus, Texas, and Keith and wife, Tami, of Bailey, Colorado; a sister, Lucy Suden of Council Bluffs; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association and the Myasthenia Gravis Association
