In Memory: Marvin L. Hilty

Marvin L. Hilty, 60, a long-time resident of Council Bluffs, died December 26 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

He was born in Kearney, Nebraska. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy, and worked for Beatrice Food for many years. He was working for Super Saver in the meat department.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary H. Hilty, who died December 24.

He is survived by a son, Scott Brooks and his wife, Diane, of Neola; two daughters, Connie McVay and her husband, Chris, and Stephanie Hurt and her husband, Jerry, all of Omaha; two brothers; Roland Hilty and wife, Eileen, and Duane Hilty and wife, Micky, all of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Marian Wilfong of Council Bluffs, and Bernadine Hastings of Else, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Belt of Solid Rock Church officiating. Burial followed at Ridgewood Cemetery. He was buried with full military honors, conducted by American Legion Rainbow Post No. 2.

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening at the funeral home.
