Michael F. Alger

MISSOURI VALLEY - Michael "Mike" F. Alger, 59, of Missouri Valley died Jan. 14 at home.

He was born April 15, 1943, in Council Bluffs to Harold and Jackie (Ryan) Alger. He operated the Bait and Concession Stand at Desoto Bend. He was a self-employed tax preparer for many years, sold real estate and collected and sold antiques.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel, of Missouri Valley; mother, Jackie Alger, of Missouri Valley; stepchildren, Jeff Grimm and fiancee, Lori Lenz, of Omaha, Sally Christiansen and husband, Greg, of Missouri Valley, Kathy Grimm of Omaha, Amy Dougherty and husband, Duane, of Omaha, and Chad Grimm and wife, Teri, of Omaha; four grandchildren.

Rosary will be Thursday at 7 p.m. followed by family visitation at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
