Arliss A. Hubbell

Memorial services for Arliss A. Hubbell, 64, of Des Moines will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

She died Dec. 17, 2002, of a lung ailment at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born April 3, 1938, in Lincoln, Neb., to Otis Thompson Sr. and Bessie (McCoy) Thompson. She previously lived in Council Bluffs, moving to Des Moines one year ago. She was a restaurant manager at the Holiday Inn in Council Bluffs for 15 years and the Ramada Inn Airport for five years, retiring in 1998. She was a volunteer for the Council Bluffs Lions Club sight saving projects. She enjoyed bingo.

Mrs. Hubbell was preceded in death by her brother, Otis Thompson Jr., in 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, LaVetta Brisbin of Council Bluffs, and Beautie Lorenz of Des Moines; two sons, Bruce Brisbin of Cedar Rapids and Harry Brisbin of Glenwood; one sister, Lucille Goodman of Country Club Hills, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

The body has been cremated. Burial of ashes will be in Lincoln.
