At 2:00 a.m. on November 12, 1986 Darrell Honaker died at the age of 51. Cause of death (and other medical conditions) was: (a) Cardiac arrest (b) Ventricular arrythmia (c) Coronary artery disease. He had a history of cardial arrythmia ----- Source: Pottawattamie County, Iowa Death Record Book 58, Page 182

The following Obituary is copied from the Council Bluffs Nonpariel dated November 12-15, 1986:

Funeral Mass for Darrell L. Honaker, 51, 200 Harmony St., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church. The Rev. Richard Wagner, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.

Mr. Honaker was found dead in his car in the St. Albert High School parking lot. The cause of death has not been determined, but exposure to cold weather and carbon monoxide poisoning are suspected to be factors, according to Dr. Samuel Rosa, Pottawattamie County medical examiner.

Mr. Honaker was a native of Dunlap and a Council Bluffs resident for 25 years.

He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Dunlap in 1955 and was in the army for two years. Mr. Honaker owned the Cavalier Barber Stylist Shop in Omaha. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and Rainbow Post No. 2, American Legion.

Survivor include one daughter, Amy, and one son, Michael, both of Council Bluffs; father Dean of Tumbling Schoals, Ark.; one brother, Leonard, of Mukwonago, Wis., and a grandmother, Nell Weber of Dunlap.

There will be a wake service at &:30 p.m. Friday at Beem-Belford Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Albert School or to favorite charity.
