The obituary from the Council Bluffs, Iowa Nonpariel Newspaper is as follows:

Ruth Maxine Travis, 69, 3321 Ave. I, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Mrs. Travis was born in Dunlap. She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Wayne Travis, in 1965, and returned to Council Bluffs from Nitro, W. Va., in 1970.

She retired in 1981 from food service with the Council Bluffs Community Schools after 11 years. She was a member of the Queen of Apostles Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Brenda) Flores of Council Bluffs; two sons, Bruce and Brian, both of Council Bluffs; one sister, Ruth Carberry of Crescent; two grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 12 noon Monday at Queen of the Apostles Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Hoffmann officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The will be a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Mercy Hospital or the American Heart Association.

Ruth Maxine Madison born October 15, 1921 at Dunlap, Iowa to Chris Madison and Mayme (Holihan) Madison. Commonly called by her middle name, Maxine.

Married February 18, 1941 to Francis Wayne Travis.
