The following was published in the Council Bluffs, Iowa Daily Nonpariel:

“Gaylend Ray Burson, 75 years, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 30, 2007.

Gaylend was born in Moorhead, Iowa. He was a former owner/operator of a auto service station.

Survivors include daughters, Suzanne (Steward) Dolan, of Portland, England,, Kathy (Grank) Coleman of Prague, Neb.; son Duane (Marcy) Burson, of Omaha, Neb.; 8 grandchildren; sister, Sally (Phillip) Hartwell, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Prayer service Friday 3 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, Paul Richardson, Chaplain, Asera Care, officiating. Visitation with family will follow until 4:30 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation and inurnment at a later date, Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa, with military honors.”
