Bernice Mary Madison was born at Dunlap, Iowa on November 22, 1906 to Chris and Mary "Mayme" (Holihan) Madison.

On September 18, 1903 Bernice was united in Holy Matrimony to Lester Frances Goodman, son of Raymond A.Goodman and Lulu F. (McIntosh) Goodman.

Bernice Goodman died December 4, 1990 at the age of 84. Cause of death: Acute cardiovascular arrest; suspected neoplasm.

The following obituary’s are copied from the Council Bluffs, Iowa Nonpariel newspaper:

"Service is pending at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home for Bernice M. Goodman, 84, 512 Fourth St., who died Tuesday at her home.

Mrs. Goodman was a native of Dunlap and a resident of Council Bluffs for 54 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the St. Ann Altar Society.

Her husband, Lester F. Goodman, died in 1987.

Survivors include five daughters, Bette Hunter, Virginia Carberry, Ruth Messerli, Audrey Wheeler and Nadine Watson, all of Council Bluffs; one son, John of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Maxine Travis of Council Bluffs and Ruth Carberry of Crescent; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Memorials are suggested to St. Albert High School."

"Service for Bernice M. Goodman, 84, 512 Fourth St., will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Francis Worship Center. The Rev. Michael Irwin will officiate.

Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Goodman, a resident of Council Bluffs for 54 years, died Tuesday at her home.

Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home.
