Dorlan died December 15, 1990 at an Omaha, Nebraska hospital. The following obituary in from the Council Bluffs, Iowa Nonpariel Newspaper:

Dorlan V. Carberry, 62, died Saturday at an Omaha hospital.

Mr. Carberry was born in Bolan and was a World War II Army veteran. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years as a mail handler and clerk. retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife Ruth (Madison) Carberry of Crescent; son Chris Carberry of Crescent; mother Tillie Carberry of Council Bluffs; sister, Elaine Mattox of Council Bluffs; four brothers, Leslie, Joseph, and Harley Carberry, all of Council Bluffs, and Gail Carberry of Crescent; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Beem-Belford Funeral Home.

AND

Dorlan V. “Blackie” Carberry, 62, Route 1 Crescent, died Saturday in an Omaha hospital.

Mr. Carberry was a World War II veteran and 40-year employee of Union Pacific Railroad.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Paul Monahan officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home.

Military gravesite rites will be performed by American Legion Post No. 2.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
