Mary Elizabeth "Mayme" Holihan was born November 22, 1887 to James and Bridget (Doherty) Holihan.

She married Christian John "Chris" Madison on May 22, 1906 at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mayme (Holihan) Madison passed away on October 18, 1979. She was almost 92 years old. Cause of her death was shown to be: Arterioschlerotic Heart Disease. The Mass of the Resurrection was held at St. Francis Worship Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Interment was a Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

- Following is her Obituary copied from the Nonpariel newspaper of Council Bluffs, IA dated Oct.19, 1979:

"Mrs. Mayme E. Madison, 91, resident at Northcrest Care Center, died Thursday at a local hospital after a long illness.

She was a native of Dunlap and had resided 40 years in Council Bluffs. She was the widow of Chris J. Madison who died in 1959.

Mrs. Madison was a member of St. Francis Worship Center and Altar Society.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lester Goodman, Mrs. Robert Hemmingsen, and Mrs. Maxine Travis, all of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Dorlan Carberry of Crescent; sister, Nell Weber of Dunlap; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending at Beem-Belford Funeral Home."
