Adalynn A. "Babe" Smay, age 105, of Council Bluffs passed away April 9, 2008, at Woodlands Rehabilitation Center.

Babe was born April 10, 1902, in Council Bluffs to the late Martha (Overton) and Orrin Drew. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School and married Kenneth Smay in 1954. She was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; sisters, Minnette and Winnie; brothers, Harry, Bill and Jimmy.

Babe is survived by her daughter, Adeleen Engel of Council Bluffs; granddaughter, Peggy and Scott Athay of Tyler, Texas; great grandchildren, Greg and wife Mandy Broyles of Doniphan, MO., Mindy and Husband Matt McCollough of Council Bluffs, Tanya Maurer of Tyler, Texas, Eric and wife Sandy Broyles of Kinsman, Ill., Dustin Broyles of St. Louis, Mo., Cassandra Broyles of Conway, Ark., and Lacie Norman of Conway, Ark.; and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation with family, Sunday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Monday 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home, Pastor Jake Blankenship of Council Bluffs First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Council Bluffs with a lunch following at the church. The family will direct memorials.
