Mr. ED Fastnacht, age 75, of Council Bluffs passed away April 8, 2008, at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. ED was born September 22, 1932, in Tripp, South Dakota to Fredrick and Emilia (Pietz). Mr. ED served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He made his home in Council Bluffs around 1963 and was the owner/operator of Mr. Ed's Flag Pole Company. Mr. ED was an avid fan of Southern Gospel Music and spent a good amount of time supporting it.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred in 1985; a son, Gary; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 2 years Barbara; sons, Roy and Sandy Fastnacht, Marlin and Lynn Fastnacht, Byron and Miwako Fastnacht, Dean and Tina Fastnacht and Earl Fastnacht; daughters, Karin and Randy Blum, Teresa and Randy Tejral, Rita and Jim Cover; step-son, John Hammond; step-daughter, Chris Hammond; 2 brothers, Rueben and Elizabeth Fastnacht and Adolph Fastnacht; sister, Bertha Rieb; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service Monday 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church Heritage Campus, Rev. Todd Allen officiating. Burial in Garner Township Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
