William A. Dahlbeck (1942-2008)

William "Bill" August Dahlbeck, 65, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of his home while surrounded by family on the morning of Friday, April, 11, 2008.

Born in Omaha, Neb., on July 10, 1942, to Eric and Elin Dahlbeck, and married to Barbara Faye Schaller on October 29, 1966.

He is preceded in death by parents, Eric and Elin and brother, David.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara and their children, daughter, April Riley and husband, Dan, Sr., of Bellevue, Neb.; son, John Dahlbeck and wife, Paula, of North Hollywood, Calif.; daughter, Annette Clark and husband, John, of Tekamah, Neb.; grandchildren Jason, Mindy, Tomorrow, Jeff, Greg, Dan Jr, Dillan, Clay and Alicia; sisters LaVerne and Ellen, brother, Eric; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends and neighbors.

Bill and his father owned Dahlbeck's Grocery on 40th and Bedford, Omaha, Neb., until 1969. Bill carried on his grocery store management and butcher tradition at local grocery stores for over 13 years and then later worked for Rotella's Bakery. Member and Deacon of Calvary Lutheran Church (Omaha), he served on many spirit and leadership boards. His compassion and ability to touch people's hearts will always be remembered. His genuine and gentle spirit will continue to impact lives young and old.

Visitation will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church (7241 No. 80th) on Monday, April 14th, 4 p.m. ? 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Committal at Hill Crest Cemetery, 9:30 a.m., Tuesday April 15th, followed by a Life Celebration at Calvary Lutheran Church, 11 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Lutheran Church.
