RED OAK - The funeral for Minnie Bea, 95, of Red Oak will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Elliott Church of Christ in Elliott.

Mrs. Bea died Jan. 6 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

She was born July 19, 1907, on a farm east of Carson to George and Annie (Wright) Stocker. She attended rural schools and after her graduation, she became a practical nurse and midwife, practicing throughout southwest Iowa. She and her husband farmed in southwest Iowa until retiring to Elliott in 1970. She moved to Red Oak two-and-a-half years ago and resided at Acorn Acres.

Mrs. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Albert Bea, on March 2, 1989. They were married Aug. 31, 1939, in Maryville, Mo. She was also preceded in death by her son, James, on July 19, 1962, parents and her three sisters, Hazel Swisher, Doris Stempel and Genevieve Bird, and her brother, Clifford Stocker.

Survivors include four daughters, Jacquline Thacher and Anna Ross, both of San Diego, Janet Carlson of Beach Park, Ill., and Peggy Tye and husband, Keith, of Red Oak; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
