Donnice K. Woods

The funeral for Donnice Kay Woods, 61, of Council Bluffs will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Prescott officiating.

Mrs. Woods died Jan. 7 at NHS University Hospital in Omaha.

She was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Los Angeles to Ray and Violet (Nielsen) Clymer. She grew up in Hampton and lived in Woodward and Ames before moving to California in 1963 and then Council Bluffs in 1966. She was a 1959 graduate of Woodward High School and a 1963 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree in child development. She was a pre-school and kindergarten teacher for Council Bluffs Schools, retiring in September 2002 after 24 years service. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter LR, Service League and the former Opti-Mrs. Club.

Mrs. Woods and her husband, Gary D., were married June 2, 1963.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Stacy A. Woods, of Minneapolis; two sons, Todd J. and wife, Natalie, of San Francisco and Tyler D. and wife, Susan, of Appleton, Wis.; parents, Ray and Violet Clymer, of Woodward; one sister, Vicky Wheeler, and husband, Dave, of Woodward; brother, Lon Clymer, and wife, Ronnie, of Virginia Beach, Va.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel. Burial will be in Gomer Cemetery in Wales, followed by a luncheon at 1 p.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be offered to Saint John Lutheran Church or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2665 Farnam St., Omaha.
