Tom R. Embrey, 59, of McPherson, Kan., passed away March 16, 2008, at his home.

Tom was born March 28, 1948, in Panora, Iowa, to the late William M. and Hazel Embrey. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and then married Susan A. "Sue" Ambrose on September 22, 1973. Tom attended First United Methodist church and was a member of United States Bowling congress and bowled on a local team.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Sue; a daughter, Annette and his sister, Mary Upchurch.

Tom will be missed by his daughter Debbie J. Klinkerman and husband, Troy of McPherson; 1 step granddaughter; brothers, Lewis Embrey of Claflin, Kan., Jerry Embrey of Des Moines, Iowa, Jim Embrey of Council Bluffs and John Embrey of Arizona; sisters, Margaret Dailey of Gilmore City, Iowa, Marilyn Hysell of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jeanne Poindexter of Madrid, Iowa.

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Stockham Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, March 21, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Marion officiating.

Interment with military honors will be at the McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
