In Memory: Irene M. Bruning

Irene M. Bruning, 89, of Treynor died April 26 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born November 15, 1914, in Treynor to Albert and Mary (Asmussen) Limburg. She and her late husband, Harold, formerly farmed in the Macedonia area. She moved to Treynor in 1961. She was a homemaker and former lunch room manager for the Treynor Schools, retiring in 1981 after 22 years service. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Treynor and its Mary Martha Circle. She was a member of the Go-Getters Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Bruning was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Bruning, on June 12, 1993. They were married 60 years.

Survivors include daughters, Marilynn Kash and husband, George, of Park Forest, Illinois, and Virginia Bruning of Treynor; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Bothe, of Treynor; brother-in-law, Norman Bruning of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Treynor. The funeral was held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church in Treynor with Pastor Arlyn C. Norris officiating.

Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Treynor, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Treynor.
