In Memory: Archie Anderson

Archie W. "Bill"Anderson, 85, of Crescent died February 2, 2004 at Indian Hills Nursing Center in Council Bluffs.

He was born November 8, 1918 in Winside, Nebraska, to Archie C. and Nita (Bradway) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a former farmhand, worked on the mail dock for Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years, and worked in maintenance with Council Bluffs Schools for 11 years, retiring in 1974.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella, on August 30, 1992.

Survivors include daughters Mary Lou Hadfield and husband Edward of Neola, Daisy Weaver of Council Bluffs, Alice Winkelman of Hillman, Missouri and Sally Bequette of Underwood; sons Robert Anderson of Crescent, Charles Anderson and wife Judy of Crescent and Archie C. Anderson and wife Carol of Council Bluffs; 30 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brothers Buddy Anderson and wife Frances of Shenandoah and Richard Anderson and wife Mary of Malvern; sisters Marie Topp and husband Orville of Harrison, Texas and Nina Jane Miller and husband Louis of Nebraska; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmie Tony of Church of Omaha officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association.
