In Memory: Donavon H. Voss Sr.
(March 11, 1922 - May 22, 2003)

The funeral for Donavon H. Voss Sr., 81, of Hancock was held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Avoca with the Rev. John Frost officiating.

Mr. Voss died May 22 at his residence.

He was born in Council Bluffs and served with the Army Signal Corps. He lived in Hancock most of his life and owned and operated an automotive repair business before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Avoca.

Mr. Voss was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on December 18, 2002, after 59 years of marriage.

He is survived by one daughter, Ann Vandivort and husband, Mark, of Underwood; nine sons, Donavon Jr. and wife, Donna, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Richard and wife, Bettie, of Antioch, California, Robert and wife, Diane, of Ashland, Nebraska, Gary and wife, Sue, of Lincoln, Nebraska, John and wife, Vicki, of Omaha, David and wife, Theresa, of Dahlonega, Georgia, Joseph and wife, Suzanna, of Norwalk, Paul and wife, Lori, of Council Bluffs, and Roger and wife, Diane, of Roanoke, Virginia; one sister, Roselene Andersen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening at Pauley-Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.
