William J. Snyder

William J. Snyder, age 81, passed away March 5, 2008.

He was born September 21, 1926, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to William G. and Florence E. (Preston) Snyder. Bill graduated from Atlantic High and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. Bill worked as a meat cutter for Wilson Packing for 17 years and Safeway Stores. He then went to work at St. Albert Schools for 5 years and also Con Agra.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Nadine E. Dudek.

Survivors include wife of 58 years, Joan (Rater); daughters, Carol Larsen (Steve), all Council Bluffs, Linda Koch (Tim) of Evergreen, Colorado; sons, William D. Snyder (Cathy), of Council Bluffs, Roger W. Snyder of Griffin, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Wendell P. Snyder (Lucille), of Iowa City, Iowa, niece and nephew.

Visitation with the family Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Monday 11:00 a.m. also at funeral home, Chaplain Frank Fast, Hospice with Heart, will officiate.

Interment Ridgewood Cemetery with military rites tendered by American Legion Post 2.

Family suggest memorials to Diabetes Association and to the family.
