In Memory: Merle J. Sillau

Merle J. Sillau, 89, of Logan died January 24 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. Sillau was married to Marjorie (Stewart) Sillau and was a long-time farmer in the Logan area.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Judy Pekas of Omaha, Connie Bugenhagen and Ron of Des Moines, Kim Esser and husband, Chuck, of Minden; two sons, Bill Sillau and wife, Dana, of Marcus, Kevin "Jay" Sillau and wife, Dorothy of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening with a memorial service at the Logan Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
