In Memory: Harvey Arrick

Funeral for Harvey "Ray" Arrick, 85, of Honey Creek was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Heath officiating.

Mr. Arrick died May 27 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born in Neola to James and Amy (Whitmore) Arrick and graduated from Neola High School. He had farmed all of his life. He served as president of Boomer-Hazel Dell Mutual Protective Association and had been a member for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Farmers Union.

Mr. Arrick and his wife, Margaret "May," were married 60 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include five daughters, Dorothy Santspree and husband, John, of Cohoes, N.Y., Trude Ayers and husband, Ted, of Fremont, Nebraska, Trisha Roenfeldt and husband, Kenton, of Mineola, Mona Martin and husband, Philip, of Norwalk and JoAnn Smith and husband, Dan, of Honey Creek; two sons, Ronald and wife, Marilyn, and Clyde and wife, Janet, all of Council Bluffs; a brother, Earl Arrick, of Logan; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home. Burial was in the Grange Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the Leukemia Foundation.
