In Memory: June Brokman

June V. Brokman, 91, of Slidell, Louisiana, died January 30 at Northshore Living Center in Slidell.

She was born June 28, 1913, in Weston to Rice D. and Hazel D. (Wright) Vesey. She lived in McClelland for 43 years and then moved to Council Bluffs in 1974. She moved to Slidell in 2000. She was a 1931 graduate of Underwood High School. She was a farm wife and then worked at Mercy Hospital for 17 years as a clerical clerk, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star of Quick and AARP.

Mrs. Brokman was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Brockman, in 1984. She was also preceded by a sister, Elizabeth Ham.

Survivors include her daughter, Joann Schenck, and husband, Edward, of Slidell; grandchildren, Denise Roberts, Michelle Cook and Sean Foil; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Roberts, Corey and Carson Cook, Ryan and Griffin Foil.

Eastern Star service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Paff officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with a luncheon following at New Horizons Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be offered to New Horizons Presbyterian Church or Eastern Star of Quick.
