G. Cookie Petry

The funeral for G. Cookie Petry, 55, of Council Bluffs will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Prugh officiating.

She died Dec. 28 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Council Bluffs to Glen E. Petry and Bonnie Wood Petry. She was a 1966 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She was a health care provider for Specialized Support Services of Council Bluffs. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen, in September; grandparents, Clarence and Bessie Petry and Homer and Anna Wood.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherri Morris, of Council Bluffs; one son, Dan May, of Council Bluffs; mother, Bonnie Petry, of Council Bluffs; granddaughters, Danielle May and Ericka Swanger; two sisters, Melody Petry and Kathleen Dewaele, both of Council Bluffs; special friend, John Koenig, of Council Bluffs; nephews, Bill, Casey and Sean; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Eagles Club.

Memorials may be offered to the American Red Cross.
