Doris Mae Fazio (1928-2008)

Doris Mae Fazio, 79, of Glendale, Ariz., passed away January 17, 2008.

She was born May 8, 1928, in Council Bluffs, to Ralph and Marie Wilson Lehmer, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She married Charles "Chuck" Fazio on May 26, 1948. She was a devoted housewife and mother to her family.

Doris and Chuck opened a family business in Council Bluffs, in the 60's, the Sportsman Inn. In 1971 the Fazio's moved to Estes Park, Colo., to operate Mountain Dew Liquors. They retired to the Phoenix, Ariz. area in 1979. Doris was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for many years, serving her community and the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Chuck, in August 2005.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzan Bennett (Wayne), of Macon, Ga., Carmen Sallee (Chris), of Glendale, Ariz.; her three grandchildren, Kelly McDaniel (Johnny), of Winder, Ga., Jarrod Sallee, of Prescott, Ariz., Samantha Sallee, of Denver, Colo.; her two great grandchildren, Olivia and Caroline McDaniel, of Winder, Ga.; sisters, Beverly Maddelena, Estes Park, Colo., Donna Lahoff, Colorado Springs, Colo., Carolyn DiBelka, Omaha, Neb., Alice Fales, Council Bluffs, Dixie Peterson, Alamogordo, N.M., Sally Olig, Omaha; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be offered to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ.
