Dennis D. Cleaver, Sr., passed away January 31, 2008, in Council Bluffs.

Dennis was born September 13, 1945, in Missouri Valley, to Dell and Clara (Hatcher) Cleaver, Sr. Dennis married Mary Saar on November 29, 1968. Dennis was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Viet Nam; and he was employed for 38 years as a machinist for Nebraska Engineering.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Hopkins, Darla M. Myers; brothers Robert L., Daniel L., Lorraine L., and Dell E.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary; sons, Dennis Cleaver, Jr., and Daren Cleaver; sisters, Phyllis D. Westcott, Joy W. Adkins, Jacqueline E. Gale, all of Council Bluffs, Norma J. Kirsh and husband, Harold of Clarinda, Odetta A. Roach of Missouri Valley, Linda C. Hand and husband, Lee of Rockport, Texas; brothers; Leonard J. of Las Lunas, N.M., Larry and wife, Patty of Council Bluffs; 6 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Evans; brothers-in-law, Irvin Saar and Kenneth Parks of Council Bluffs; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis' body will be cremated. A luncheon/memorial will be held at the Eagles Club (1530 Ave. F) on February 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family.
