Roscoe D. Jennings

Roscoe D. Jennings, 76, of Council Bluffs died Dec. 26 at his home.

He was born March 4, 1926, in Dunlap to Arthur L. and Sylvia (Lamkins) Jennings. He was a graduate of Woodbine High School and Iowa State University.

He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was an accounting clerk for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years until his retirement in 1986. He lived in Council Bluffs for 51 years and was a resident of Woodbine prior to that.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1 in Omaha and the Omaha Eagles Lodge No. 154.

He and his wife, Lola (Dinehart), were married 19 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a stepson, Earl Jones and wife, Marcia, of Omaha; a sister, Ruth Lewis, of Omaha; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Prescott officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.

Memorials may be offered to projects at the American Legion Post No. 1 in Omaha.
