Hazel M. Williams

Hazel M. Williams, 83, died Dec. 23 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

A lifetime resident, she was born July 15, 1919, in Council Bluffs to William B. and Adelia (Hough) Stewart. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1936. She retired as an administrative clerk for the Internal Revenue Service in 1985 after 20 years of service. She was a member of Southside Christian Church.

She married Water "Bud" Williams Sept. 19, 1936.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; a son, James Thomas Williams in 1945; and three grandchildren, Diana and Don Williams, and Bryan Charter.

Survivors include three sons, W. Russell Williams and wife Charlene, Gary Williams and wife, Barb, and Larry Williams and wife, Diane, all of Council Bluffs; two daughters, Dona Magnussen and husband, Vern, and Ann Williams and significant other, Tony Collins, all of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel with the Revs. Gary Hollers and Aaron Jones officiating.

Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Dodge Memorial Congregational Church.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Chapel Congregational Church.

Memorials may be offered to Southside Christian Church.
