LaVonne M. Jepsen, age 87, of Council Bluffs, passed away November 20, 2007, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

LaVonne was born February 21, 1920, in Elk Horn, Iowa, to the late Nels and Rose (Christensen) Soe. She graduated fron Harlan, Iowa, High School in 1937.

LaVonne married Carl B. Jepsen in 1941, and to this union two sons were born. They moved to Council Bluffs in 1958. LaVonne was a homemaker and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Jepsen in 2003; son, Gary Jepsen in 2005; sister, Darlene Andersen; brother, LaRue Soe.

LaVonne is survived by her son, Duane Jepsen of Council Bluffs; granddaughters, Angela Rickers, Amy Hallock and husband, John, Kelly Roberts and husband, Jeff; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Fryzek and husband, Robert Fryzek, M.D. of Glenwood.

Visitation with the family, Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Monday 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Edward A. Ward officiating. A lunch will follow the service at the church hall. Interment in the Elk Horn, Iowa Cemetery.
