Darrell John Barrett, 56, of Shelby, Iowa, passed away November 2, 2007, at Myrtue Medical Center.

He was survived by his wife of 35 years, Becky Barrett, of Shelby; son, Travis (Emily) Barrett, of Harlan, Iowa; daughter, Teresa (Chad) Hancock, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, Todd Barrett, of Bouton, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; parents, John and Helen Barrett, of Shelby; sister, Phyllis (Don) Barkhaus, of Altoona, Iowa; brother, Tim (Luann) Barrett, of Shelby; mother-in-law, Pauline Nielsen, of Avoca; brother-in-law, Ray (Pam) Nielsen, of Avoca.

Visitation Monday, November 5, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a Prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Avoca. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Avoca. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery, Shelby.
