Geraldine R. "Gerry" Williams-Hurd, age 81, of Council Bluffs, passed away November 5, 2007, at Victoria Gardens, in Bellevue, Neb.

Gerry was born July 23, 1926 in Russell, Kan., to the late Henry and Anna (Diel) DeWald. She graduated from Russell High School in 1943. Gerry worked for Mutual of Omaha for 25 plus years, retiring in October of 1987. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Gerry was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Williams in 1980; two sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Max Hurd of Council Bluffs; sons, Eric Williams, MD, and wife Casey, of Lincoln, Neb., Mark Williams and wife Sarah of Loveland, Colo.; daughter, LeAnn Brasure and husband Dr. Wayne, PHD; six grandchildren, Aaron, Nicholas, Christopher and Kerrigan Williams, Ryan and Alexandria Brasure; sister, Berniece Weimaster and husband Floyd of Russell, Kan.; brother, Harvey DeWald and wife Glenda of Phoenix, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Friday, 11:00 a.m., Salem United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Weesner, pastor officiating. A lunch will immediately follow the service. Interment, Friday, 2:00 p.m. Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery, in Omaha.
