Lois J. Cooney, age 75, Council Bluffs, passed away at her home on October 24, 2007.

Lois was born in Persia, Iowa, on January 9, 1932, to Marvin and Pearl Fitzgerald Champlin. Lois graduated from Persia High and worked as a secretary for the Council Bluffs Community Schools for 28 years retiring in 1995. Lois and husband, Lyle have been married for 56 years. Lois is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis on January 14, 2005; her brother, Pat Champlin.

Survivors include husband, Lyle of Council Bluffs; daughter, LuAnn Campbell and her husband, Marty of Omaha; grandchildren, Kelli Cooney and her fiancè, Josh Baker of Council Bluffs, Michelle Furnas and her husband, Luke of Omaha, Mike Campbell and his wife, Kim of Omaha; great grandchildren, Ghannon Moore, Luke, Lauren and Lane Feierfeil; sister, Lucille Howe and her husband, Bernie of Council Bluffs.

Visitation Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Valley View Cemetery, Persia, Iowa.
