Darold L. "Bob" Shaw, age 68, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Council Bluffs, passed away October 10, 2007, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs after a sudden illness.

Bob was born November 9, 1938, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to the late Raymond and Grace Shaw. The Shaw family moved to Omaha, Neb., where Bob graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1956. He served our country in the US Navy and spent many years in the CeeBee Reserves.

Bob married the love of his life, Marietta McGilvray on September 2, 1960. To this union three children were born. The family moved to Council Bluffs in 1964. Bob was supervisor of customer service and finance for OPPD for 35 years retiring in December of 2006, and owned and operated Council Bluffs Window Coverings for over 20 years. Bob moved to Sun City, Ariz., in 1997, where he sold real estate for Ken Meade Real Estate Agency. He was a member of Bluff City Masonic Lodge #71, Council Bluffs, where he served as past master, Shriners, where he was active in the float patrol and Eastern Star, where he served as past worthy patron.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Shaw in 2007; grandchildren, Ava Marie and Devin Brian Shaw in 2007.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Shaw; son, Steve Shaw and wife, Carolyn, all of Council Bluffs, Kevin Shaw and wife, Kim of Gilbert, Ariz.; grandchildren, Nathan, Jordan, Bailey, Coral and Rylee; sisters, Lillian "Mae" Edelman, Gloria Poth, both of Omaha, Shirley Edelman of Hastings, Neb.; brother, Leonard Shaw of Omaha and beloved dog "Ginger".

Masonic service, Sunday, 4:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service, Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Rev. Tony Paff officiating. Inurnment Ridgewood Cemetery with military rites tendered by American Legion Post #2. A lunch will follow at the Masonic Temple. Memorials to March of Dimes preferred. It was Bob's wish to be cremated and no viewing will be held.
