Kathleen Ann "Kat" Owens, age 49, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 8, 2007, at NHS Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kat was born June 3, 1958, in Council Bluffs to Clinton and Donna (Anderson) Collins. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1976 and attended IWCC, College of St. Mary's and Park University. Kat married Raymond Owens on June 5, 1976, in Council Bluffs and to this union two children were born. She was a scheduler at Aquila Energy Corp. for 14 years and Northern Natural Gas for 5 years. She was a member of the Harley Club and Pottawattamie County Bow Hunters.

Kat was preceded in death by her uncles, Glen and John Collins, Troy Treece; cousins, Steve Earl and Gary Collins.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Raymond Owens of Council Bluffs; daughter, Tara Fowler and grandson, Kale of Denver, Colo.; son, Joshua Owens and special friend, Stephanie Koch of Council Bluffs and granddaughter, Izabel and grandson, Taylor Owens; parents, Clinton and Donna Collins of Council Bluffs; sister, Diane Schroder and husband, David; brother, David Collins and wife, Cindy, all of Council Bluffs; in-laws, Ken and Joyce Owens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Collette Owens, Dan and Trudy Owens, Craig Owens and Tim Gardner, Tim and Amber Owens, Bev Phil, Lisa Kinney; aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation with the family, Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service, Friday, 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment Hazel Dell Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at Cow Patty's.
