James Ronald Pitts, age 68, of Persia, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Persia; children, James and wife Diana, of Persia, Gail of Minden, Iowa; Candace and husband Kevin, of Persia, Chad and his significant other Kristy, of Harlan, Iowa; several grandchildren; sisters, Donna Leonard, of Persia, Doris Davis, of Neosho, Mo., Opal Gilliland, of Lyons, Neb., Bonnie Hildreth, of Hollywood, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Logan Memorial Chapel, in Logan, Iowa. Services, Saturday, 2 p.m., at United Methodist Church, in Persia. Burial at Valley View Cemetery, in Persia.
