Lavon F. Harriman (1923-2007)

Lavon F. Harriman, 84 years, Plattsmouth, Neb., former Council Bluffs resident, passed away September 25, 2007, at an Omaha hospital.

She was born April 1, 1923, in Council Bluffs to the late Ben and Viola F. (Nixon) Sieck, she lived here most of her life. She was a retired bank teller for the former Council Bluffs Savings Bank for many years. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Harriman in 2000 and her son, Larry C. Harriman in 1993.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jolene Harriman, Council Bluffs; grandson, Jason Harriman and wife, Tammy, Council Bluffs; granddaughter, Jamie Poland and husband, Bryce, Treynor, Iowa; five great grandchildren; sister, Betty Matable and her husband, Stan, Sarasota, Fla.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 7th, 4 to 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8th, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David A. Weesner, pastor of Salem United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Salem United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be offered to either the Leukemia Society or the Nebraska Masonic Home, Plattsmouth, Neb.
