After a long and painful illness Joseph Sankey expired on the morning of the 28 inst.He had been confined to the house nearly three months.The desease was pronounced, by physicians to be softening of the brain. He was in his sixtieth year; moved to the eastern part of the state from New Castle, Penn. his birthplace in 1831. He moved to Walnut eight years ago, was a member of the Common Council at the time of his death, and was esteemed as a frugal upright andindustrious man. The funeral occurs Saturday at 10 O'clock.
