Norman R. Reed, age 72, of Council Bluffs, passed away July 26, 2007, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Norman was born November 8, 1934, in Percival, Iowa to Leon and Loleta A. (Holland) Reed. He graduated from Tabor High School in 1952 and married Eileen C. Madsen on January 15, 1966 in Omaha. Norman was a foreman for ASARCO for 32 years retiring in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Loleta Reed in 1990.

Norman is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eileen C. Reed; daughter, Becky Thornburg and husband, Joe; sons, Mitchell Reed, all of Council Bluffs, Rick Reed and fiance', Joyce Nurton; grandchildren, Shuntel Blecher and husband, Dan, all of Omaha, Carey Thornburg, of Council Bluffs; great granddaughter, Mallory Blecher, of Omaha; father, Leon Reed; sister, Freda Collins and husband, Harvey; niece, Robin Collins, all of Council Bluffs; nephew, Kevin Collins and wife, Jacquie, of Florida; many other nieces and nephews, and faithful dog, Duffy.

Visitation with the family, Sunday, 2-4 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with a lunch following at Queen of Apostles Social Hall. Interment, Monday, 2:30 p.m. at Tabor, Iowa Cemetery.

The family will direct memorials.
